Technical Questions

Q: I am having trouble downloading Casebook. It downloads some of the file and stops. Or when it downloads the file fully, I run it and it says the "installer integrity check has failed".

A: This is commonly caused by either a problematic internet connection at the customers end, and/or by a virus protection program (such as Norton Antivirus) getting in the way of the download, or corrupting the file after it scans it for viruses. In 90% of cases, if you disable the virus protection program, Casebook will download and install without any issues.

Q: Casebook is running, but I'm experiencing strange graphical issues, is there anything that can be done to fix it?

A: It's possible that your PC might not have a powerful enough video card, but just to be sure you could send us your 'DirectX Diagnosis'.

  • To do this, first go to the Windows START bar.
  • On Windows XP, click run and type in 'dxdiag' and hit enter.
  • On Vista first select the 'start search' bar and type in 'dxdiag' and hit enter.
  • DirectX Diagnosis will run and collect your system information (video card details etc).
  • Click the 'Save All Information' button at the bottom and save it onto the Desktop.

Attach the dxdiag.txt file in an email and send it to support@casebookthegame.com.  Once we receive your dxdiag.txt we'll have a look at your system information and determine why you are having trouble running Casebook and if there's anything we can do to help you.
