Q: Does Casebook contain subtitles?
A: Yes. Everything in Casebook is subtitled, including the voice-overs and video cut-scenes.
Q: How long does it take to play Casebook?
A: We've found that most players beat a single episode of Casebook in around 4 hours time. But it all depends on how thorough you are. Some players race through in 3 hours time - missing a bunch of evidence, while others play diligently, taking up to 8 hours.
Q: I purchased the previous editions of Casebook and I want to try the new ones. Can I buy them cheaper?

Technical Questions
Q: I am having trouble downloading Casebook. It downloads some of the file and stops. Or when it downloads the file fully, I run it and it says the "installer integrity check has failed".
A: This is commonly caused by either a problematic internet connection at the customers end, and/or by a virus protection program (such as Norton Antivirus) getting in the way of the download, or corrupting the file after it scans it for viruses. In 90% of cases, if you disable the virus protection program, Casebook will download and install without any issues.
Q: Casebook is running, but I'm experiencing strange graphical issues, is there anything that can be done to fix it?
A: It's possible that your PC might not have a powerful enough video card, but just to be sure you could send us your 'DirectX Diagnosis'.
Attach the dxdiag.txt file in an email and send it to support@casebookthegame.com. Once we receive your dxdiag.txt we'll have a look at your system information and determine why you are having trouble running Casebook and if there's anything we can do to help you.
- To do this, first go to the Windows START bar.
- On Windows XP, click run and type in 'dxdiag' and hit enter.
- On Vista first select the 'start search' bar and type in 'dxdiag' and hit enter.
- DirectX Diagnosis will run and collect your system information (video card details etc).
- Click the 'Save All Information' button at the bottom and save it onto the Desktop.
Attach the dxdiag.txt file in an email and send it to support@casebookthegame.com. Once we receive your dxdiag.txt we'll have a look at your system information and determine why you are having trouble running Casebook and if there's anything we can do to help you.
Questions about the 'Mumbo Jumbo' Casebook Release
Q: I purchased the Mumbo Jumbo DVD version of Casebook and when it launches all I see is a black screen.
A: The Mumbo Jumbo release of Casebook was shipped missing some installation components. We recommend downloading these additional installers separately from here. Unzip it and then run all the files. If you have a 64-Bit Operating System you should run the 'X64' version of the 'WIC' installer.
Q: When I run Casebook I get this error: "This application failed to start, because d3dx9_32.ddl was not found, reinstalling the application may fix this problem".
A: This is because the Mumbo Jumbo version is missing a DirectX installer, which Casebook requires to run. Even if you have the latest version of DirectX (like DirectX11) Casebook still needs certain components from DirectX9.
To fix this, download this zip file, unzip it onto your desktop and run 'DXwebsetup.exe'.

Questions about the Big Fish Games version of Casebook Episode I: Kidnapped.
Q: I purchased the Big Fish Games version of Casebook Episode I and it's not running well (or it's not running at all!).
A: Unfortunately the version of Casebook hosted at Big Fish Games contains a few bugs (and has no subtitles). If you've purchased this version but would prefer to play the new one, please let us know and we'll send you a free download link.
